Fresh broccoli makes a delicious pasta sauce. I have made one using purple sprouting broccoli.

Pasta with purple sprouting broccoli is a very tasty way to eat this vegetable. This quick and easy recipe is perfect for a simple dinner. I boil the broccoli until very tender (10 minutes) and then add them to the garlicky oil. The vegetables break into chunks when they’re stir fried and create a dense oily green sauce. Homemade Pizza and a Family Movie, it must be Sunday…

Pizza is always a much appreciated dinner. I like to bake it on Sundays which very often is our Family Movie Day. I bake two large trays of pizza so I can enjoy the leftovers for lunch the day after. My family and I prefer the classic pizza base: tomato sauce and plenty of mozzarella cheese. The topping vary. My favourite is: hard-boiled eggs, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, salami, spinach and black olives. I like scattering my toppings on to top of my pizza base close to each other but not mix – similar to pizza“Quattro Stagioni”. Continue reading

Simple and tasty Omelette

Simple and tasty food is what I like to eat after all the Christmas and New Year party foods, so I have cooked a Frittata omelette. I prefer to eat it warm, but it is also good cold served with a crunchy salad and rustic bread. An egg based dish is always present in my weekly menu and I do prefer to add vegetables rather than meat to my Frittata. Stir fried onions, courgettes and cherry tomatoes have always been my favourite combination, maybe because it is my Mum’s favourite combination too (it reminds me of home).
